9-Month Doctor Visit
This week Olivia had her 9-month checkup. All is good! She is 20 lbs, 4 oz. And she is 29.25 inches long! She is in the 75th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height! Right now she is wearing 12 months clothes. Although the 12-month shirts are starting to get a little tight, so she might be moving up to 18 months for shirts. She is growing like a weed! The doctor said everything looked good, no worries, just keep feeding her. We do have to push the sippy cup more though. Her top two teeth are coming in. And she is crawling all over the place, even starting to pull herself up. Here are some pictures of her when we went to Araha with Jillian the other day.

Free Jilly
On Thursday Jillian completed her 6-month quarantine process. Which means she is a free dog! This also means we have been here six months already...Wow! Anyway, Jillian is now able to explore Okinawa. Up until this point she has been complaining that Japan was boring, because all she has been able to do is go outside on the leash to go potty. Now that she is off her quarantine she can go for walks, car rides (to places other than the vet), sightseeing, and best of all...the beach! We took Jill out on Saturday to celebrate this occasion. We went to Araha Beach, just down from the base off of 58. It has a nice walking path, playgrounds, and all around good scenery. I realize poor Jill has taken a back seat to Olivia, and she hasn't made many appearances on the blog. So, to celebrate Jill and her freedom, this post is all about her!
In these first few pictures, Jillian is still stuck at the house unable to explore. I'm sure you can see the misery on her face. Brace yourself, you are about to see a sad dog...
This was when we first got here. We still had to loaner furniture!

"How much is that doggie in the window?" This is what she does when we leave her. Yes, that is the kitchen sink she is standing on. Thankfully, she has met her match with the concrete block that we live in, so she doesn't destroy the house anymore. And yes, this is a little glimpse as to what our "house" looks like on the outside...

Getting a little bored...still with the government furniture.

And finally Free! She was like, "Gosh guys, I can't believe you haven't taken me here yet this whole time!"
She was a little unsure about the concrete pillar things...

When we first got our furniture...You would have thought this was her bed, she was so happy to finally have it! We had to push her out of it so we could get in! When you guys ask "Where's Jill?" This is pretty much where she usually is and what she is usually doing...being lazy.

Seriously dog? She took up the entire couch! Rough life, this quarantine business...

Sleepy Baby Jail
Note: Think of the title of this post as "Before & After" on Wheel of Fortune
What happens when baby learns how to crawl? She gets put in Baby Jail! What is Baby Jail? See below! This is how we contain the monster, otherwise she races us to the kitchen to dump out the dog's water. Or she is playing with the blinds she knows she isn't supposed to play with. Or she is just speeding around trying to find something else to get into. So when we need to get things done, she gets locked up! She doesn't mind it much, because she plays with her toys in there. I love it when she smushes her face against the net though! As soon as I can catch her on film doing it I will post.
This is one of the first nights we put her in it. Pretty handy! I think Jillian is teasing her that she gets to stay out and roam:

"uhhh, guys, this isn't funny anymore, let me out!"

Ok, can you guess what happens when Olivia is left alone in Baby Jail around nap time?

She falls asleep playing! She is one of those kids that just goes and goes until they drop!

And, she is like her mother when she sleeps:

F-22 Raptor
Last month, they had an F-22 Raptor on static display for us to go and admire. They even let us take pictures. So here they are...These are the noisy things (among others) that have been flying over our house lately...
A front view...Yikes!

Wouldn't want that after me...

Olivia and Daddy in her first (of many I am sure) plane shot...and some random pilot standing guard:

I thought he was sooo cute, a little pilot!

Olivia's Valentine
So, who was Olivia's Valentine? Well it turns out that Daddy was Olivia's Valentine. When Olivia woke up on Valentine's Day, she found a green toad sitting on her dresser with a card. She opened it up and found it was from daddy! Mommy also got a card and a box of butterfly ornaments. And Olivia and Mommy got daddy some candy and cards. Mommy got another surprise too. Daddy had arranged a babysitter so we could go out to dinner without the baby! How sneaky of him, I had no idea! Mic gave up her Saturday night to watch Olivia for us. We decided to go out to dinner to Tonneau, a restaurant we had gone to before and enjoyed very much. It is in the shape of a barrel, but you'll see that in pictures. But before dinner, we had to go make a valentine at Alligator Steps. Here are some pictures of the day.
The toad- it says "Jumpin' toads, you're cute!":

Reading her card:

Playing at alligator steps, well ok, eating a crayon...

Playing with a ball, and watching all the other kids:

Making the valentine...Handprints! Miss Larissa helped her with it:

Getting cleaned up:

Finished product! Awwww:

Tonneau- We wondered what Tonneau meant-we looked it up, it is french for barrel, go figure!

The front and the door:

Inside looks like a barrel too:

Olivia playing at the baby-sitters (Craig and Jennifer's). She was standing up against the window. Notice what is on her feet? Shoes!

Playing with their new puppy, Musashi:

Now michi wants to play too:

"Walking" with Craig! This was the first time we have seen her do this, she definitely knew to do one foot, then the other while holding on to his hands. She might be walking on her own soon:

Sunset Dinner
Tonight we all went out to dinner at The Seaside Inn Restaurant. It is one of the base's restaurants, but it is off base at Kadena Marina, so it is right on the beach. We have gone before but it was dark out, so I wanted to go back and watch the sunset over dinner. It was a nice day today so we sat outside.
The Dragon Boat races are coming up, here are some people practicing rowing:

The fish tank when you first come in the restaurant:

They must think she is older than what she is, she was super excited the waitress gave her crayons and her own menu...although both were quickly taken away by Mommy. She also got her own bread and butter and glass of water (we tried to do water through a straw, but she just wanted to play with the straw instead):
