Drive to Nago - Take Two

Ok, I told you there would be more pictures! So this is Saturday's trip to Nago. We took the scenic route along 58. For those of you that have been to Florida beaches, 58 is sort of a huge A1A. It mostly drives along the coast, which leaves for some amazing driving views. Unfortunately, this route can take a long time with stop-and-go traffic. If you are too impatient you can take the Expressway for 700 Yen (about $7). Saturday we were lucky and didn't hit much traffic. We started off the trip needing to put gas in my car. Well, they had lower gas prices THAT day from like $2.46 to $1.76. What happens when they lower gas prices after about 4 months? Long lines...Everyone apparently held out until the drop:

See isn't this view pretty?

Buckle up your pickles (or cucumbers)!

Another view from the car:

Construction on the ocean?

We found the gecko from Geico...

Ok, so even though we didn't have the cherry blossoms directions on Saturday, the trip wasn't a total waste because we found Haneji Dam. Don't worry, I took pictures for you!

This sign was tile mosaic:

Going up the hill...a big hill, to the dam

She loves exploring! Olivia at the top:

One side...its a long way down:

The other side...still a long way down:

Wind in her hair, Waving at the camera:

We like to look at the signs and try to guess what they mean. We are guessing this one says bring your binoculars!

We took a turn on a road that I thought might lead to cherry blossoms, but it didn't. We got this view instead.

Also, I added a link to a map on the side of the blog. If you want to get a picture for where we are and where we go, you can click on "map" and see a virtual map of Okinawa. You can zoom in to see more cities. We live near where is says Okinawa/Kadena and spend most of our time on that side of the island. Cherry Blossom post coming tomorrow!
