Daddy's Class

You've probably heard about the class Mike is taking. Right now he is in the NCO Academy. It is a class he must complete in order to promote to Master Sgt. Basically, he is learning how to be a good NCO (supervisor). So, he gets to read a lot, take tests, write speeches, get inspections, and practice marching around (his job is to hold the flag!). He even gets to wear his "blues" twice a week. Yesterday, they had their first test that counts for a grade...and...he got the 2nd highest score in his class! He scored 99 out of 111! He was very excited and we were very proud of him. So, when he came home so happy, I just had to get a picture of him in his "blues."

(Please excuse Olivia's hair. I did have it in pig-tails, but she ripped them out at the last minute...giving her the "wolverine" look...)

He will graduate on July 10th and they will have a nice ceremony. They'll have a diploma ceremony during the day (where they'll also march around) and then a dinner ceremony at night. So stay tuned for pictures from that.

Since he had been studying all week and it actually wasn't raining at the moment, Mike decided that we should go out and do something. With the way the weather has been, rainy and stormy, the sky has been doing some funky things at sunset. So, I wanted to try to take some pictures at the sea wall. It wasn't much of a sunset, but it one quick moment the sun got very bright, right before going down.

I offered to take a couple's picture, so they offered to take ours :)

Look what we found on the sea wall!

And Mike was excited to see a Harry Potter advertisement- in Japanese:

Later, we tried out a restaurant we hadn't gone to yet. It turned out to be a nice, quiet, Chinese restaurant, with really neat decor:

We had our own little booth/room, these beads separated our table from others:
All in all - it was a pretty nice night! The rain held off a little for us to walk around, take pictures and enjoy dinner. Fingers crossed for a nice weekend!
