Sunday - Churaumi Aquarium

That’s right. We finished our week off by going to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium! And Olivia loved it! She was amazed looking at all the fish and creatures. Since Angie and her family are leaving, she wanted to take one more trip up there to show Gabe. We are glad we tagged along, because not only did Olivia like it, we had fun too. The Aquarium is in Nago, right next to the ocean, so the fish are not far from home. There is also a huge park surrounding the aquarium. It was a pretty hot day, so we didn’t walk around the whole park, but I got some pictures as we walked past certain parts. Brace yourself, it’s a long post, but here are some of the pictures from our day! Oh, and pay no attention that Olivia changes clothes half-way through…we had a little accident.

The front of the Aquarium:

Walking down to the aquarium through the park area. The dolphin tank is in the background towards the left (told you it was right next to the ocean):

The turtles were the first thing we saw. Here she is taking a look at the giant sea turtles for the first time:

She was pretty interested in them:

I liked this guy:

So did Olivia:

A sad sign, which I'm sure says something about how the pollution harms the sea turtles. Those are a lot of plastic bags at the bottom, probably pulled from the ocean:

A part of the park we walked by...BEAUTIFUL!

We went to the dolphin show. And guess what? Yep, Olivia loved it! She clapped and cheered:

Pointed and "oooohhed" and "aawww" (well, ok, just pointed):

This is what she found so interesting:

"YAY!"

This is really fun guys:

He is sticking his tongue out at us:

He jumped pretty high:

Finally, we found our way into the aquarium. They had some starfish, coral, and sea cucumbers on display:

Hey, this is the same thing we found at Maeda Flats ourselves:

And the fish!

Checking a shark out:

Does it look like she's having fun?
Daddy showing here some cool fish:

Pointing to the fish that are swimming on the top above us:

Checking it out:
He was pretty:

Family Shot:

Whale Shark - he took up all three panels:

The big tank:

Big Sting Ray type thing that swam over us:

Pure Amazement:

Feeding time. See the shark standing up to eat:

Jaws:

We tried to get her to stand in the mouth by herself, but she wasn't having any of it:

So, we picked her up and made it another family shot. AAhhh, we're in a shark's mouth!

Trying to get a picture with mommy, but she wouldn't look at the camera. She was too busy looking at all the fish!

This is how thick the glass is in the big tank (thanks daddy for being a lovely model)!

The Moms and Babes...they are picking on each other here:

Look at what is up there, Mom!
All that fun makes for some tired babies!

And a little bit of the park before we left. Here are some gardens, in the shape of sea creatures:

And a pretty flower:

And Daddy pushing Sleepy back to the car:

So, it was a fun day. It was a great end to a wonderful week. I hope you enjoyed the glimpse into the life of Olivia. She has it pretty rough here... :)
